Resilience
An 8x10 relief print carved from a linoleum block.
Every print is unique.
This print was created when I ask the Lord for encouragement in a season of healing from knee surgery. I was in a place of uncertainty and feeling out of control in my own body. My original recovery date was meant to be 9 months post surgery and I was very far over a year and feeling discouraged and disappointed. I wasn’t getting many answers about my healing process other than to keep pressing forward and pressing in. Doctors having hope but not clear answers to why it was taking so long or clear insight for pain wasn’t going away or my muscles weren’t getting stronger. This picture gave hope for me to keep pressing in.
I asked the Lord for help and I saw this image and it instilled hope to me. While there was a lot of resistance pressing against me that felt like a wall of water around me that I was trudging through, I kept my hands open as I moved. It wasn’t impossible, but it was hard and it required something deep from me. I was reminded to see the progress and in the midst of the unknown length of the journey, I was moving forward and not alone in the process.
My hope is that this would be an encouragement to anyone who needs it. God is with you in the unknown and believes in you to make it! Stay with it. It may not always look how we thought it would but you are moving forward. Hope is on the horizon.
