To get lost and hide in the wonder of a child’s mind

Where grass is an adventure

And joy is a door open wide

A bug we can stare at as time passes by

The simple becomes magical

When seen for the first time

I return to the place where the fields are profound

They hold so much life

Space to run around

Space to be found

It doesn’t take much

To light up their eyes

We remember the touch and our souls reignite

We recollect, detect

Delight in the simplicity of a child’s mind

Hey Cow

Hey Cow,

How did you manage to get all the way up here?

These cliffs are high and the water is deep.

Your four hooves found quite the scene.

I see you enjoying your fancy feast

In these mountains the grass must be delightful to eat.

As I sit by the creekside,

I enjoy the sound of your bell.

You shepherds must know where you are quite well.

I can hear in the distance the sound of your friends,

How often do you come up here?

Will you go back down again?

Or is this home?

And I’m the one walking through?

It a beautiful place.

I really love the view.

Is this something that has become normal for you?

Long Days

Long days

Resting

Thankful for home

To be

Life gets busy

To sit and still

Let the sediment settle

Soul calm, it will

Rush and worry

Lose their power

Giving into the slow

Relief settles

Hour by hour

Hushing the chaos

Peace in my mind

I wake to

Stillness

Sitting

In quiet company

Settling in

Receive

We all need a little (loving?)

Long days

Resting with friends

Thankful to have home

A place to be in

When life gets busy

To sit and be still

Let the sediment settle

My soul calm, it will

The rush and the worry

Lose their power within

As I give into the slow

And settling again

Hour by hour

A hush to the chaos

A peace to my mind

I awake to stillness, that isn’t hard to find

To sit with a friend

In quiet company

We are

Settling in

We all need a little loving

White Blocks

Stack and steps

Pure white to the top

A little dirt on the sides in some blocks

Time will tell

What you can hold

Your beautiful to look at

It’s stunning to watch you grow

Depths

The calm on the shore.

The depths of the sea.

What are the waves that are turning inside of me?

Will I stay with my feet in the sand?

Will I walk closer?

Will I dive in?

ColorFULL

Peace, serenity.

These are the colors I see

God, how did you create a world

With so much mystery

The way colors that form

The way the stars shine bright

How big the earth is

You always light up the night

When I sit way up here

I begin to dream

I get lost in space

All the full, colorful space I see

What if color held something for us to partake

An emotion, a feeling, an appetite for a break.

Something to feast on

Every time we look at a beautiful landscape.

Color your world

With vibrancy and light

With emotion and depth

All day and all night.

Roaming

It’s a house on wheels

A place to live

It could hold a stove, a bed, and a family with kids

Stocked up and ready

Always down for the ride

Roaming the streets

Finding what’s on the other side.

Life in Hard Places

There is life in hard places

The crevices and the cracks

There is water dripping down

There is no lack

There is beauty springing forth

It’s popping up all around

There is life in hard places

A miracle, we can see now

Yellow Walls

Yellow walls

You hold so much life's

It’s spilling over

Your brimming with delight

Yellow walls

When the sun comes

Do reach for its touch?

Growing taller and taller

Is it refreshing when the winds gusts?

Yellow walls

Are you tried?

From holding so much

Your strong, a protector

Holding beauty

Morning, evening and at dusk

Yellow walls

I see you.

You are hard to miss with the eye.

You embrace your beauty and don’t hide.

Thank you.
